Storia

Il circondario del Prignitz fu creato nel mwia1993 nell'ambito della riforma amministrativa del mwiqBrandeburgo. Fu creato unendo il disciolto mwigcircondario di Perleberg con la gran parte del mwiwcircondario di Pritzwalk (esclusi i comuni di Blumenthal, Grabow e mwjgRosenwinkel), più l'Amt Gumtow già appartenuto al mwkacircondario di Kyritz.

Geografia fisica

Il circondario del Prignitz confina a mwkwnord con il mwlacircondario di Ludwigslust-Parchim (nel mwlqMeclemburgo-Pomerania Anteriore), ad mwlgest con l'mwlwOstprignitz-Ruppin, a mwmasud con il mwmqcircondario di Stendal (nella mwmgSassonia-Anhalt), ad mwmwovest con il mwnaLüchow-Dannenberg (nella mwnqBassa Sassonia).
